Safari Overview

The 6 Days Serengeti Migration Safari takes you to the heart of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife experience the Great Wildebeest Migration. This safari focuses on the Seronera/Central Serengeti, one of the best places in Africa for year-round game viewing. The area is rich with permanent water sources, attracting lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, and thousands of resident animals.

During this 6-day Serengeti Migration Safari, you will witness the dramatic movement of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles as they search for fresh grazing. The migration normally passes through the Central Serengeti twice each year, usually around June–July and October–November, creating unforgettable wildlife action.

Seronera is also known for its high concentration of predators, making it one of the best places for seeing lions hunting, leopards resting on acacia trees, and cheetahs sprinting across the plains. With breathtaking landscapes, endless savannahs, and rich wildlife all year round, this safari offers an authentic African adventure for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who dreams of exploring the Serengeti at its best.

Day by Day

DAY 1: ARUSHA TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National Park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

After breakfast, full day of game viewing in the Tarangire National Park. Giant baobab trees, bush savannah and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. The Tarangire National Park is considered as one of the best places to view elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeests which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals.

After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never ending plain grasslands. The Serengeti is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. During the off-season of the migration, one must really look out for the many lion pride that thrive in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion pride provide an excellent game viewing experience all year round. Along with a picnic lunch during the full-day game drive, the day will come to a close by around 5 PM. The long day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation

The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park before heading to Ngorongoro. The areas that you visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals and include lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs.

The famed Ngorongoro Crater serves as the focal point of the vast highland area known as the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA), which is located along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley. Wildlife and other natural resources are being preserved at Ngorongoro. Additionally, it promotes tourism while defending the rights of indigenous people. We rise early and drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour. Later in the afternoon we drive to Arusha for overnight.
