Safari Overview

Grumeti Migration Safari takes you deep into the remote western corridor of Serengeti National Park, one of the most thrilling locations to witness the famous grumeti migration.

Between May and July, this region becomes a vital pathway for massive herds of wildebeest and zebras as the grumeti migration unfolds across the plains in search of fresh grazing.

As the herds move, they encounter one of the most dramatic highlights of the grumeti migration—the crossing of the Grumeti River. This natural barrier creates intense and unforgettable moments, where giant crocodiles lie in wait and survival instincts take center stage.

Watching the grumeti migration at this point offers a raw and powerful glimpse into the cycle of life in the wild.

Our professional safari guides know exactly where to position you for the best views of the grumeti migration while ensuring a safe and respectful wildlife experience.

Along the way, they share deep insights into animal behavior, ecosystems, and the fascinating dynamics behind the grumeti migration.

After adventurous days in the bush, relax in comfortable tented camps located close to the migration routes.

These camps provide an ideal balance between luxury and nature, allowing you to stay close to the grumeti migration while enjoying private tents, delicious meals, and breathtaking views of the African savannah.

Evenings are magical, with the sounds of wildlife echoing under a sky full of stars.

Beyond the grumeti migration, the western Serengeti is rich in biodiversity. You’ll encounter giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and a wide variety of bird species, making every moment of your safari rewarding.

The diversity of wildlife combined with the drama of the grumeti migration ensures an unforgettable safari experience.

Frequent Asked Questions

Where is the best safari in Tanzania?

Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater are the two most iconic safari experiences in Tanzania. Tarangire and Ruaha are amazing for elephant sightings with fewer crowds and adrenaline-boosting off-the-beaten-path adventure.

Tanzania tours are quite safe when booked with reputable operators such as Wild and Nature Safaris. Professional guides, well-managed accommodation, and secure vehicles ensure that you get a secure and comfortable experience throughout your stay.

The ideal time to visit Tanzania is June to October, which is the dry season. Wildlife is easy to spot as animals gather near water bodies. Also, during this season, the Great Migration peaks in the northern Serengeti.

It depends. The more you want to explore, the more days you need. However, a one-week safari is ideal most of the time. This may include multiple parks, enjoying vivid landscapes, and maximizing wildlife viewing. Shorter trips are also possible, but then you will limit your experience.

Tanzania Tours prices range from US$350 to US$1000 per person per day. The costs depend on the season of traveling, accommodation style, and group size. It also depends on whether you want an itinerary of private or shared tours. Wild and Nature Safaris offers a myriad of budget-friendly yet luxurious packages in Tanzania.
